Blog Potpourri

POTPOURRI

Hey there blogosphere! Long time no post! Not a lot of blogworthiness going on, really. Certainly not enough to warrant a full post. But with Dad arriving in Boise, a road trip ahead, and impending nuptials, oh, there will be blogging.

You know that category on Jeopardy! -- "Potpourri"? That's what I got.

PEEPS: Easter came and went. Happy Easter! Don't fry Peeps. It don't work.

PAPER: I did a little shredding. Yeeaahh. Just a little bit. Yes, that's a yard debris bag. Our shredder broke in Beaverton, so I've just been throwing sensitive info in a bag...for nearly 2 years now. Yeah. That took a couple days.

PARENTS: The parents headed south with my grandfather to visit the Looooo-siana relatives, and of course popped into one of my favorite cities, N'awlins. Here's them in the French Quarter on Saturday night. :)

Cuppie Cakes!!!

I made cupcakes this weekend! They are for a fundraiser at work, but it was really fun to make them, and to just play. They are dark chocolate cupcakes with mocha cream cheese frosting and a dark chocolate truffle on top!
So many cuppie cakes!
A social philanthropy group I belong to had an event Saturday night, so we cleaned up a little, put on some fancy threads, and hit the town! Dinner, a band, and a chance to wear my fanciest rhinestone necklace! Can't beat that!
And I had to have my picture taken by these giant implements at a sign shop near where we parked. :)
And the weather all weekend was stunning, despite a crazy snowstorm on Friday....April snowshowers bring...?

Sister's Spring Break Visit!

Well, sweet sister's Spring Break visit has come and gone, in the very blink of an eye. We had the funnest day ever on Thursday! We had breakfast, then we went to tour Mister N's workplace... then off to Sonic for large peach iced teas!

We spent the rest of the day shopping and gabbing and more Sonics, and then drove around with the sunroof open listening to The Cult too loud. It was spectacular.

Until Sister came down with a cold. Then we mostly watched a lot of TV.
She did muster the strength to attend practice with the Marmots, and they graciously allowed her to participate. While she was out on the field, I was in the stands enjoying a diet Coke while completely absorbed in my issue of O! Oprah magazine. Good to see that after all these years we are still firmly ensconced in our roles.

My sweet proxy Marmot in action.

Sister has a terrible habit of catching balls with her knees.

Very few people sustain kneecap injuries during Quiet Magazine Time.
After practice we went to Sonic and got ice cream blasts. It was super fun.

After that, there was a lot of TV watching...and soda drinking...and gabbing....and nose-blowing. :(

Then sister returned to Portland. Her unplanned sickness was unfortunate, but nice to see her smiling face!
