Hawaii: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel!

While my husband and Louis had finished snorkeling and had perched themselves up on the lava shelf to regale themselves with tales of their turtle findings, I spied my second awesome sighting of the trip, and raised my hand up out of the water, snapping to them to get back under the water!
And come spy this eel that was about 3 feet from their tasty legs.
They quickly donned their masks and made it back under. Given the quality of my husband's camera, and his eternal affinity for eels (particularly the wolf eel, which this is not), I gave documentation over to him. Plus my husband had his dive gloves on. THREE gingers!
I believe this guy to be a Stout Moray Eel.
Mostly I've found eels aren't aggressive unless taunted. That happens to be true of me too.
So glad to be able to snorkel with the nephews, and hope they dig the undersea world too. I hope Louis's mask was just fogged up because he'd taken it off, and he hadn't been snorkeling that way the whole time.
Yougoddamnedkids, getoutofmyocean!!
Yarrrrr!! Toothy.
