Hawaii: Parrots and Triggers

The parrotfish in this reserve were AMAZING. Gigantic blue and green fishes with their lipsticky beaks, munching the coral. I love listening to them underwater.
These ones were as big as i've ever seen.
They are a subgroup of the wrasse family. Well sure.
They make me smile.
Because they look like they are smililng!
Sometimes I get them mixed up with the humuhumunukunukuapua'a, or triggerfish, which is the state fish of Hawaii. But i think the parrot fish should be. So much more colorful.

Its native name means "trigger fish with a snout like a pig." Not very polite, Hawaii, not very polite.
